Raku's Mother

Raku's Mother

Raku's Mother is one of the supporting characters in the Nisekoi series. She is an author and wife of Issei Ichijou, boss of the Shuei-Gumi Clan.

Background[]

When Raku's mother was in high school she wrote a children's book titled "Zawsze in Love".Though she wrote many books, it was the only book which published at that time. Her inspiration for the book was "Romeo and Juliet", and she got the title from "Tumski Bridge" in Poland which is said to be a lover's bridge. She wanted the title to be in Polish but due to the low accuracy of translation devices at that time, her intended title "Eternal Love" was translated into "Zawsze in Love" ("zawse" being Polish word for "eternal", according to the manga) instead of "Zawsze w Milosci"

Capture

Raku's Mother erased the title of her story book due to embarrasment from her mistake

This mistake was pointed out by her classmate, Hana. In embarrassment, she erased the title, however Hana requested the book for herself, and later gave it to her daughter Chitoge, who then gave it to Kosaki except for the torn last page. This Book was later read by the group of children staying near the Tenku Plateau.

She married Issei Ichijo before giving birth to Raku; the final chapter shows Issei heading off to a second honeymoon with her, implying that neither have made much contact (if any) since Raku met the others at the Tenku Plateau. Raku's mother continued to tour the world and write children's books, including one called The Adventures of Mappy-kun which was loved even by foreign children.

Appearance[]

Raku's Mother is a tall woman (taller than Chitoge) with slender figure and long hair. Her face was never fully shown in the manga, but Chitoge sees her as very beautiful.

Connection Of Raku's Mother with Hana Kirisaki[]

Capture-0

Raku's Mother, Hana Kirisaki (Chitoge's Mother), Chika Tachibana (Marika's Mother) and Nanako Onodera (Kosaki's Mother) all studied in same school and in same class, and they were friends. It can be implied that she kept in touch with Hana for longer, and likely forgot about Nanako and Chika.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being the mother of main protagonist and important key for Raku's past, Raku's Mother is the least mentioned in the story (excluding Yui's late mother).
    • She is the only mother of main characters whose actual name is never mentioned, only referred as "Raku's Mother".
    • She doesn't have her own arc.
    • Her face is never fully shown.
