Otama (おたま) is a Shrine Goddess that appeared in the PS Vita game Nisekoi: Yomeiri!?. She lives in Raku Ichijō's house throughout the duration of the game, appearing in various cutscenes.

Appearance[]

Otama appears as a small girl with orange eyes, short black hair, two fox ears on the top of her head, and two tails. Her usual attire consists of a red and yellow traditional kimono and geta, with a pink sash with yellow edges.

Abilities[]

  • Shapeshifting: Otama possesses the ability to take the form of other people. She does not use this very much outside of the prologue, during which she transforms into Claude.
  • Invisibility: Otama can pop into or out of view at will.
    • She may be able to teleport, as well.
  • Wish Granting: Being a Shrine Goddess, she also holds the power to grant the wishes of mortals.

Personality[]

Otama has a generally very childlike attitude, often choosing to directly disobey Raku when she finds the result of doing so to be interesting. She takes genuine joy in granting wishes, and hates when people don't like the results. She also tends to get frustrated or upset very easily.

When interacting with others, Otama demands a certain amount of respect. If she is not given it, she will not hesitate to inform them of this. She hates being looked down on, or having her flaws pointed out.

When speaking, Otama speaks in an old-fashioned way, but has some trouble with bigger words and loanwords (which, ironically, she is very fond of using).

Trivia[]

  • Otama is one of two characters created specifically for this game.
  • Otama's favorite food is inarizushi, which is made from tofu and rice.
    • She moved into Raku's house solely for his ability to make this.
  • During the Old Maid minigame (the one selectable from the main menu), Otama can be selected as an opponent, alongside Shuu and the other heroines.
    • She is not a very difficult opponent to beat, all things considered.
  • In volume 18 of the manga, between chapters 154 and 155, Raku is seen holding a small doll or charm that strongly resembles Otama. He comments that it looks familiar.
