Nisekoi: Yomeiri?! (ニセコイ ヨメイリ!?? "False Love: Marriage?!") is a Japanese visual novel developed by Konami and Artdink Studios for the Sony Playstation Vita. It was released on November 27, 2014 and has since been removed from the Playstation Stores. The game was never officially localized or translated.

Main Characters[]
Secondary Characters[]

Plot[]

The game's plot is split up into several routes. Each route starts off the same way, with the fox goddess Otama moving into Raku's house for the next 30 days. After this, depending on which heroine the player decides to pursue, the plot will change (see the section on "Routes").

Gameplay[]

Playing as Raku Ichijō, the player has 30 days to build his relationship with any of the main girls: Chitoge, Kosaki, Marika, or Seishiro. To do this, the player must collect Zawsze Drops (which resemble keys). These must be collected for each individual heroine (i.e. Drops collected for Chitoge will not count towards anyone else's total.) There are several methods of obtaining Zawsze Drops:

  • Viewing certain scenes with the heroine
  • Making certain dialogue choices in normal events
  • Making the correct series of choices during main (story) events
  • Giving the heroine a gift (on Sunday)

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the player may select one heroine each during lunch and the evening and view short events for each of them. Each heroine has a pool of around thirty events, selected randomly. These events can take place in numerous locations, and may contain choices the player can make to earn a few Zawsze Drops. Some scenes may also play out differently if the player has a certain item or enough Zawsze Drops with the heroine. When this happens, a lock is shown unlocking in the upper right hand corner.

At the start and end of every day, a random event plays. These events may include Shuu, Otama, Ryuu, or any of the heroines (or even just Raku). Typically, no Zawsze Drops are gained during these events.

Between lunch and evening on school days, a short scene may play in which Raku makes plans for the weekend with another character (Shuu or one of the heroines). No Zawsze Drops are gained from these scenes.

Once you have collected enough Zawsze Drops for a heroine, you may view a story event for her. Each heroine has exactly six story events, which must be viewed in sequential order. Story events are typically longer than normal events, and around halfway through, the player will have to play a one-on-one minigame with the heroine.

During this minigame, the heroine will typically present you with a question or statement. Depending on the event and question, the player will be presented with one of several ways to respond:

  • A number of clouds containing possible responses will float towards the top of the screen. The player must tap one (or simply ignore them to say nothing). Some may appear more than once. Each one will prompt a different response from the heroine.
  • Between one and four (typically at least two) choices will appear on screen. The player must tap one (or wait until the timer runs out to say nothing). Each response will prompt a different response from the heroine.
  • Several bubbles, each containing a single hiragana or katakana, will appear on screen. The player must trace over them in order to spell a word. The upper-left corner contains between two and seven boxes which denote the length of the required word. Note that sometimes several different words may be spelled, each prompting a different response, but that only one may be selected. If a non-word (or a word that there is no response programmed for) is spelled, the heroine has a (typically non-favorable) response. Again, the player may choose to remain silent.
  • The player may be prompted to tap somewhere on the PS Vita screen or backpad. If they do so, depending on where they tapped, the heroine will have a unique response (or sometimes nothing will happen at all). Unlike the other ways of responding, this one is not timed.

By selecting favorable responses, you will gain Zawsze Drops with the heroine. Selecting all favorable responses will cause the minigame to succeed, prompting the story event to end well. By selecting too many unfavorable responses, the minigame will fail and cause the story event to go badly. Note that doing this will not cause any Zawsze Drops to be lost, or any future scenes to play out differently. Also note that some story events cannot be failed.

If the heroine is carrying a colored heart on the map, a story event is available. The player may opt to skip time or select a different heroine. Doing so will not softlock the game, as the story event will be available on the next school day. Some story events may take place on the weekend, in which case they will happen automatically.

If the player has seen a scene in which Raku makes weekend plans, then Saturday will consist of an event showing how these plans went. This may include a lunch date with Chitoge, a visit to Marika's house, or hanging out with Shuu in the shopping district, among other things. If no plans were made, Saturday is completely skipped and the game moves right from Friday to Sunday.

On the first 3 Sundays, unless there is a story event queued, the player is presented with the option to either sleep through the day or go give one of the heroines a gift. If he decides to give someone a gift, Otama will appear and prompt him to choose a girl. Once the player has chosen one, Otama will check and make sure the player has an item to give her. If at least one item is found, the player is prompted to choose which item is given. Otherwise, the player will be prompted to choose a different girl or end the scene. Once a girl and an item are chosen, a scene plays in which the item is given to the girl. Note that choosing the same girl multiple weeks in a row will cause the scenes to be different. Once the girl receives the item, the player will receive a large amount of Zawsze Drops and an invitation to spend the day at her house, after which the scene ends. Note that there is no option to give a gift to Ruri, even if her route has been unlocked.

Selecting the other option has different effects, depending on which week it is:

  • During Week 1 (Day 7), selecting the "Sleep Through" option prompts Otama to pull Raku out of bed and make him clean her shrine. Shuu shows up and arranges for all the heroines to come help.
  • During Week 2 (Day 14), the button is instead labeled "Do Housework" and triggers a scene in which Raku spends the day taking care of the house with Ryuu.
  • During Week 3 (Day 21), the game lets Raku sleep through the day.
  • Week 4 (Day 28) has a special event that has the player select a gift for a gift swap. Depending on the gift they choose, a different heroine will receive their gift and the player will gain a large number of Zawsze Drops:
    • For Chitoge, select "リボン (Ribbon)"
    • For Kosaki, select "ネックレス (Necklace)"
    • For Marika, select "髪飾り (Hair Clip)"
    • For Seishiro, select "イヤリング (Earrings)"

After thirty days are up, Otama will give the player a lecture and will turn back time, leaving Raku with no memory of those thirty days. All Zawsze Drops and progress are lost for that save file.

After the sixth heroine event is completed for a heroine, the game will roll the credits. This will happen regardless of whether the scene ended well (good ending) or badly (bad ending). Upon first completing a heroine's route (by getting either ending), their Majikoi+ entry will be unlocked, as will their Comments entry. The Ruri route is unlocked upon completing any other route.

Routes[]

Seishirō Tsugumi[]

  • For the first story event, Raku is in art class. The assignment is to draw portraits, and Shuu has everyone draw straws. Raku gets paired up with Tsugumi. Tsugumi protests, feeling self-conscious, but eventually agrees to draw Raku. (Ironically, Shuu is left without a partner, as one student was absent from class.) Shortly after, Tsugumi begins to feel self-conscious about staring at Raku and hastily draws him, intending to finish the project. When Raku points out he still has to draw her, Tsugumi refuses, once again self-conscious about having Raku staring at her. The player is tasked with helping Raku convince Tsugumi to let her draw him.
    • Good ending: Raku nearly finishes his drawing, but Tsugumi gets so embarrassed that she knocks over the easel. She leaves Raku, who wonders what to do now that he cannot finish.
    • Bad ending: Tsugumi leaves, leaving Raku with an empty canvas.
    • For either ending, after Tsugumi leaves, Shuu offers to pair up with Raku so they can both finish the assignment.
  • For the second story event, Tsugumi approaches Raku after school and asks him to help her. She explains that the aquarium is giving out special plushies for an event, and she wants to get one for Chitoge. However, she continues, she needs a second person to go to the event with her. Raku agrees to help, and they go to the aquarium. When they arrive, they find out that the event was intended for couples, and that to get the plushie, they must hug for an extended period of time. Tsugumi resigns herself, and the player is presented with several ways to hug Tsugumi:
    • Selecting "Tightly" will prompt Tsugumi to complain that Raku is hugging too tightly.
    • Selecting "Lustfully" will prompt Tsugumi to hit Raku, after which she apologizes and they try again, after which the player must choose one of the other options.
    • Selecting any other options will cause the plan to go off without a hitch.
    • Not selecting any options will cause Tsugumi to get mad and hug Raku instead, much to his chagrin.
    • Regardless of what happens, Tsugumi gets a stuffed animal and swears Raku to secrecy about the mission, stating that she did not know it was an event for couples. Raku buys Tsugumi a crepe from a crepe shop, and remarks that Tsugumi would probably have rather gone to the event with the guy she likes. Tsugumi says that she's glad she asked Raku, before realizing what that means. She tries to change the subject by having Raku take a bite of her crepe, but Raku refuses, stating that that would be an indirect kiss. Tsugumi gets mad and chases Raku.
  • The third story event takes place on Sunday, during a scheduled date between Chitoge and Raku. Raku asks Chitoge why Tsugumi is coming, and Tsugumi states she's keeping an eye on them. They go clothes-shopping, and then to the movie theater, where Raku and Tsugumi talk about the movie (player-driven).
    • If the talk goes well, Raku and Tsugumi realize they have very similar taste in movies and agree to see another movie together in the future.
    • Otherwise, Tsugumi asks Raku why he didn't talk to Chitoge about the movie instead of her. She gets frustrated and punches him.
    • Regardless of how the talk went, the three of them go to the arcade and play a zombie-killing game. Raku and Tsugumi get a low score when they play together, and Tsugumi blames Raku. But when Chitoge and Raku play together, they do much better, making Tsugumi realize how good their synergy is. Raku takes them to the crepe shop, but Tsugumi remarks that her chest feels tight and she does not feel like eating. Chitoge pulls Raku aside and they agree that Tsugumi is probably suspicious, so they decide to act even more lovey-dovey, even going so far as having Raku eat some of Chitoge's crepe. When she witnesses this, Tsugumi gets mad, demanding to know why Raku is eating Chitoge's crepe when he refused to eat hers. Chitoge gets confused, and Tsugumi realizes what she said. She backpedals, stating that she's very happy to see the two of them so happy together, but remarks that her chest aches.
  • For the fourth story event, Tsugumi is seen looking for Chitoge, remarking that she's become very good at ditching her. Chitoge appears, crying, and runs off. Tsugumi jumps to the conclusion that it is Raku's fault Chitoge is crying. The scene cuts to Raku, taking care of the animals. He remarks to himself that Chitoge had waved her broom around and gotten dust in her eyes, and that he will do the rest of the cleaning until she gets back. Tsugumi appears and states very angrily that she will show Raku a fate worse than death. Raku runs away, prompting a minigame in which he must run away from her.
    • If the player loses the minigame, Tsugumi beats up Raku and he loses consciousness.
    • If the player wins the minigame, Tsugumi beats up Raku and he loses consciousness, but not before she reveals that she'd had some faith in him.
    • Regardless of the outcome, Raku wakes up on the rooftop with his head in Tsugumi's lap. She explains that Chitoge explained everything and that she'd gone to the nurse's office to get some ice. She then says she's very sorry, prompting Raku to observe that she is looking sad. Another minigame starts, the objective of this one being to cheer up Tsugumi.
    • During this minigame, Tsugumi may hit Raku for saying the wrong thing, prompting her to catch herself. However, if this happens, Raku will state that at least she's not looking super depressed.
    • Regardless of the outcome of the minigame, Raku tells Tsugumi that she looks a lot better when she's smiling. Tsugumi will state that Raku is very frustrating, but she suspects Chitoge was attracted to him for his kindness.
  • Iin the fifth story event, Shuu asks everyone if they'd like to stop at a restaurant on the way home. Everyone agrees, except for Tsugumi, who states that she is busy. She sighs, and Shuu guesses that her sigh is the sigh of a maiden in love. Tsugumi beats him up and asserts that she is not in love. A loud series of beeps is heard, and Tsugumi panics, plays it off, and leaves hastily. Raku goes after her. Before he catches up Tsugumi can be seen talking to herself in the garden. She thinks back to that morning, when Claude assigned her the mission of using a miniature lie detector to try to trip up Raku. (This is a direct callback to Liar.) The flashback ends with Tsugumi lamenting she had not had an opportunity to use the lie detector yet. She then goes on to say that, although once she would have felt great about finding out Raku and Chitoge's relationship was fake, she has jumbled-up feelings about the matter now. She catches herself and asks why she should even think about Raku anymore, stating that he's taken over her thoughts lately. Raku shows up, having overheard the last part. Tsugumi guesses that Raku was worried about her, then denies that she was talking about him. The series of beeps are heard once again, and Raku observes that they came from somewhere around Tsugumi's chest. The player is prompted with a minigame to uncover the source of the beeps.
    • Regardless of the outcome of the minigame, Tsugumi states that no one likes a guy who's too persistent, and that she doesn't like Raku either way. The lie detector goes off, prompting Tsugumi to angrily ask how that was a lie. Raku remembers the lie detector Tsugumi had brought to the study group, and says he'd heard those beeps from that. Tsugumi shows him the lie detector before demanding to know how he feels about Chitoge. Raku says he loves her, and Tsugumi observes that the lie detector is not beeping. She then asks him some more questions, and Raku decides to turn the tables by asking her if she likes anyone. She denies it, eliciting another series of beeps. Raku says he's rooting for her, to which Tsugumi responds that he cannot support her, and that she has no need to feel how she does. Raku says that her feelings are not logical, saying that once you're interested in someone, you won't be able to stop thinking about them. Tsugumi asks if this still applies if the person she likes already has a girlfriend and she knows he is completely unattainable. She then presents Raku with a hypothetical question: if she (for example) was to ask Raku out (FOR EXAMPLE), despite the fact that he is dating Chitoge (I say again, for example), how he would feel about it. The player is then presented with the option to say that it would not be a nuisance, or that he is not sure.
    • If the player chooses to say it would not be a nuisance, Raku will state he'd be pretty happy to be asked out, even by Tsugumi. Tsugumi tells him he should have said "no" for Chitoge's sake, to which Raku responds that he was told to answer honestly.
    • If the player says they are not sure, Raku will respond accordingly. Tsugumi asks if he would hate it, and Raku admits he would not.
    • Either way, Raku says that most guys would be happy if Tsugumi confessed her love to them. Tsugumi says she doesn't care about any guy other than him, which Raku doesn't quite hear. She backpedals, and Raku asks if she is embarrassed, to which Tsugumi responds that she is not, and that she does not like him. The machine beeps, and Tsugumi yells that it must be broken. She then leaves and goes to the rooftop, leaving Raku wondering why she acted the way she did. On the rooftop, Tsugumi thinks about what Raku said and realizes she loves him. She then resolves to never tell him that she loves him.
  • TODO: Summary of sixth heroine event

Kosaki Onodera[]

  • In the first heroine event, Raku is doing some late homework in the classroom when the student council announces over the P.A. system that they are recruiting. Kosaki enters and states that she is there because Ruri asked her to help take Raku's homework to Ms. Kyoko. Raku tells her that he is not finished and apologizes, to which Kosaki responds that she will wait. After Raku finishes his homework, he gives it to Kosaki. They accidentally brush hands, embarrasing both and amusing Shuu. A boy (whose name is unknown) walks into the classroom and asks if Kosaki is there. Kosaki asks him what he needs, and he asks to talk to her in private. The two leave. As Raku wonders what the boy wanted, Ruri appears out of nowhere and informs Raku that it could be a problem for all of them. She tells him that she thinks the boy is going to confess his love to Kosaki, which causes Raku to panic. Chitoge and Tsugumi overhear and join the conversation. Ruri mentions that the boy may have put Onodera in danger, which causes Raku to worry even more. The player is then presented with the choice of whether to check on her. Regardless of what is chosen, everyone, including Raku, will leave for the rooftop to find Kosaki. Once they arrive, they spy on her from the door. The boy is asking her for something, and the gang remarks that it sounds like a love confession. Kosaki apologetically turns him down, and he expresses desperation, after which she turns him down again. Tsugumi remarks that this boy isn't very manly and asks for permission to intervene. The player is then tasked with choosing whether to have Raku intervene or just wait and see what happens. If they choose to wait, Shuu will "accidentally" open the door and make everyone fall into view of Kosaki and the boy. Otherwise, Raku slips into view himself. Either way, Raku will challenge the boy, telling him to leave Kosaki alone. The boy expresses self-awareness and apologizes, stating that he will leave her alone, but telling her to come see him if she changes her mind. After he leaves, the gang tries to make Kosaki feel better, after which she mentions that between her other clubs and helping out at her family's sweetshop, she wouldn't have time for what he wanted. Everyone is confused, and Raku takes initiative by asking if the boy was, indeed, confessing his love. Kosaki gets flustered and says that he was on the student council and was asking her for some extra help. Everyone expresses relief, but Ichijo realizes that he embarrassed himself. Kosaki asks why he came to the conclusion that he did, and the rest of the gang takes that as a cue to leave. Once Kosaki and Raku are alone, Raku realizes that he needs to explain, prompting a minigame.
    • If the player provides satisfactory answers to Onodera's questions, Raku will apologize and say that he will find the boy later and apologize. Kosaki will say that Raku's actions made her happy. This causes Raku to have a massive nosebleed, and he goes to lie down. Kosaki gets him a wet towel, and Raku remarks to himself that the day would have been perfect if he was not bleeding to death.
    • If the explanations are unsatisfactory, Kosaki will either kindly insinuate that Raku caused her some trouble, or apologize for causing Raku trouble. Nonetheless, she will thank him and say that the environment the boy created made it very difficult to say "no". Raku will think to himself that he feels bad for nosing in, but that he's happy there wasn't a confession after all. Kosaki asks Raku if he ever gave Ruri his homework, which prompts him to panic. Kosaki offers to take the homework for him, and he accepts.
