Happiness (シアワセ, Shiawase) is the eight episode of the Nisekoi series that is originally written and illustrated by Naoshi Komi as a manga. The episode aired on March 1, 2014.

Overview[]

When Raku has to buy pet food, Tsugumi accompanies him to see if he is really fit to be Chitoge's boyfriend. However, Tsugumi is bothered by her developing feelings for Raku, so she later seeks advice from her classmates. As a result, she was advised by Kosaki that she is in love though she denies it. After being reminded to Chitoge by Seishiro that she had a first love, Chitoge opens her closet and reads her old diary from ten years ago. When the entries cease, she discovers a key that resembles one that could open Raku's locket.

  • Tsugumi may have fallen in love with Raku.
  • Tsugumi, Chitoge, and Claude seem to be oblivious to the feeling of love.
  • Chitoge has a diary that consist of the days she spent with the boy she made the promise to.
  • Chitoge lived in Japan for a certain amount of time and had also met the boy she made the promise to there.

Difference between anime and manga[]

  • Tsugumi wears a blue dress when she and Raku go to the pet store in the anime, but in the manga she wears whole different outfit.
  • When Tsugumi asks Claude about her weird symptoms, he is seen eating bento that is arranged to look like Chitoge in the anime, but in the manga, Claude is seen with a regular bento.
  • As Tsugumi asks Shuū about her symptoms, his eyes form a heart inside the pupil to indicate she's in love before he asks her if her symptoms are related to Raku in the anime.
  • When Kosaki tells Tsugumi that she has fallen in love, Tsugumi hits the table and cause Kosaki and Ruri to fly up the roof in the anime.
  • In the manga, Chitoge surprises Tsugumi with drinks by going behind the bench, but in the anime Chitoge runs to Tsugumi with the drinks.
  • Before Chitoge finds the key from her diary in the anime, Chitoge opens her book with the key falling out. In the manga, Chitoge shakes the diary which is closed and finds the key that falls out.

  • This episode was adapted from Nisekoi Chapter 18: Happiness, Chapter 20: Ditz, and Chapter 21: Scar.
  • This episode's opening, "Click", features Tsugumi for the first time.
